Sometimes the wrinkles and lines on our faces can leave us feeling like we aren’t ourselves anymore. We still feel young, so naturally we want to look young. Our certified dentists can help people achieve this youthfulness by using Botox to help restore a fresh, vibrant appearance.

Is Botox for me?
Botox is a simple, non-surgical treatment option for men and women who want to revitalize the appearance of their face. This injectable works to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines such as frown lines, crow’s feet and the vertical lines that can form between the eyes.
During a consultation, we will discuss different Botox options in detail. Patients who are looking to treat other areas of the face for signs of aging or loss of facial volume may also look at the option of dermal fillers.
What are the benefits of Botox?
Many men and women like Botox because it can give a younger appearance without any major surgeries. It improves existing signs of aging as well as preventing new ones from forming. The results of Botox appear completely natural when performed by an experienced professional–you still look like you, just a few years younger.
How is a treatment executed?
At your consultation, you and your dentist will determine which areas of the face will be receiving treatment in order to achieve your desired outcome. Then, when you come in for your treatment, we will carefully mark the precise locations to be injected. Your dentist will then gently inject the proper units of Botox into the marked locations on your face. This will relax the underlying facial muscles. Local or general anesthesia is not necessary.
Is Botox treatment painful?
Everyone person’s pain tolerance is different but the most common feedback we receive is that the injections feel like tiny mosquito bites.
How long does a Botox treatment take?
Your treatment should take about 30-45 minutes.
How long is the recovery time?
There is essentially no recovery period following a Botox treatment. Some minor soreness or bruising may occur, but there should be no problem with getting back to your normal routine right away. You should plan your Botox treatment on a day when you will not be exercising, drinking alcohol or spending time in the sun.
When will I notice the results of my Botox treatment?
For most people, it takes about 1-2 weeks for any significant changes are noticed. This is because the botulinum takes some time to develop. The fine lines and wrinkles on your face will gradually begin to smooth out as the Botox slowly relaxes the underlying muscles.
How long will my results last?
The results of one treatment typically last for about 3-6 months. However, this can vary from patient to patient. As you begin to notice some lines and wrinkles come back, touch-up treatments can be applied to help you keep your youthful appearance.
If you’re looking for a non-surgical way to smooth fine lines or deep-set wrinkles, Dermal Fillers may be the best option for you. As the name suggests, dermal fillers are used to fill in weakened facial features and return volume and smoothness to your face. Many fillers are designed not only to replace the collagen your body loses due to aging but to also stimulate the body to create new collagen. Dermal fillers are designed to lift the face, restore volume, relieve wrinkles, and rejuvenate the skin for a smooth, youthful appearance. Results appear quickly, and can last anywhere from a six months to over a year.
What can Dermal Fillers fix?
Dermal fillers can be used to fix a variety of concerns related to facial aging, including:
- Adding volume and smoothing out the deep creases that run from the nose to the mouth (called nasolabial folds or laugh lines).
- Plumping thin lips and smoothing out vertical lines around the edges of the lips.
- Augmenting cheeks to enhance their shape, often restoring youthful fullness.
- Filling out depressions (hollows) under the eye area.
- Making indented scars from acne or chicken pox more even with surrounding skin.
- Increasing volume to fill out gauntness in the lower cheek or temple area, which most often occurs due to fat pads shifting beneath the surface of skin.
Are Fillers the same as Botox?
Don’t confuse dermal fillers with Botox. Although both procedures involve injections, Botox is most often injected around the forehead and wrinkles around the eyes (crow’s feet) to stop muscle movement that results in wrinkles. It has nothing to do with the plumping smoothing effect dermal fillers have .
Because they work in different manners, many people elect to get both Botox and dermal fillers—the combination can produce a remarkably younger-looking face.
