How old should a patient be for professional teeth whitening?

At Dental Health Associates, we generally recommend professional teeth whitening for patients age 16 and older. By this age, most permanent teeth have fully developed, and patients are better able to follow whitening instructions safely.

Before whitening, we will also make sure the teeth and gums are healthy and determine whether whitening is appropriate for the patient.
