Will teeth whitening make my teeth sensitive?

While GLO whitening is designed to minimize sensitivity, but some patients may experience temporary tooth sensitivity after whitening, especially after hot or cold beverages. This usually subsides in 1-3 days. Some tips for sensitivity:

  • Use desensitizing toothpaste: Brush with a sensitivity-focused formula before and during your whitening routine.
  • Take a break: If you feel discomfort, simply pause the treatment for a day or two to let your teeth rest before finishing the remaining sessions.
  • Avoid temperature extremes: Steer clear of extremely hot coffee or ice-cold drinks for a few days immediately following your treatments.
  • Control your application: Make sure you aren’t applying too much gel, as excess gel can seep onto your gums and cause tingling or irritation.
